8TH ANNUAL STEAK & BURGER
DINNER
What is a Steak & Burger
Dinner? A fund raising event where contributors meet and
interact with some of the young people they are helping through their
support of Boys & Girls Club. Adults buy tickets and eat a hamburger.
Members attend free of charge and dine on steak.
Why Steak & Burger?
A nationally developed and proven event in Boys & Girls Clubs across the
country, introduced here in 1996. At many clubs (ours included), an
annual occasion eagerly anticipated by Club members, community leaders,
and Club volunteers.
When? Tuesday,
August 19, 2003 - 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where? Boys &
Girls Club, 43 Second Street, Auburn
What are Some of the
Features? The event is conducted as an end of the summer
(casual dress) with activities for club members before dinner and
interactive games for children and adults (word searches, etc.). Dinner
begins around 6:00p.m. After dinner plans include entertainment by club
members, several award presentations to club members and guest speaker(s).
Guest Speaker
It's true. Major Junior Hockey is Coming to Maine (quote,
Lewiston Hockey website). Talk with Matt McKnight, Vice President and
Governor of the Lewiston MAINEiacs!
Likely Attendees
Boys & Girls Club directors, corporators, alumni, corporate
supporters and community leaders, friends and anyone with an interest in
the work of the Club.
