December 2002:
Our “Building Their Dreams!” capital campaign came
to a successful conclusion, having raised $6.3 million for
renovations, improvements and expansion of the Portland and South
Portland Clubhouses and for endowment.
January 2003:
The South Portland Clubhouse re-opens for
programming, having been displaced for six months during the
construction project. Improvements include a fully renovated gym,
new entry and program space, and a 3,500 sq.ft. Learning Center
addition.

project at the Portland Clubhouse is complete.
Members are now enjoying the new swimming pool and renovated program
areas.

February
2003:
Members
of the South Portland and Portland Boys & Girls Clubs have guided
tours of their "new" clubhouses to dozens of volunteers, donors, and
guests who attended the Capital Campaign Celebration on February
25th. Donned in t-shirts printed Thank you for Building Our
Dreams!, they participated in the program later by displaying
the grand total of gifts and pledges (including in-kind gifts)
donated to the campaign.
Boys & Girls Clubs
of Greater Portland is deeply grateful for the help and commitment
of all the generous donors and volunteers of this campaign.
